SQFT Token
The Square Foot Token. Shareland’s core trading instrument. Each token represents synthetic price exposure to the $/sqft value of a specific real estate market or neighborhood.
Oracle
The data engine that publishes a reference price for each SQFT market by aggregating real estate transaction data and listing prices. Developed with Dr. Susan Wachter (Wharton School) and Dr. Andrey Pavlov (Simon Fraser University).
Market
A tradeable geography on Shareland: a specific neighborhood, city, or region. Each market has its own SQFT token and price feed.
Synthetic Asset
An instrument that tracks the price of an underlying asset without requiring ownership of that asset. SQFT tokens are synthetic. They track real estate prices without you owning property.
Position
The SQFT tokens you currently hold in a specific market. Your portfolio is made up of all your open positions.
Collateral
USDC deposited to secure a mint (borrow) position. Shareland requires a minimum collateralization ratio (MCR) of 110%. If your ratio drops to 110%, your position is automatically liquidated. Recommended minimum is 120%.
Mint
The creation of new SQFT tokens by locking USDC collateral. Minting is how you open a borrow/short position. You deposit USDC and receive newly created SQFT tokens.
Burn
The destruction of SQFT tokens by returning them to the protocol to unlock your deposited USDC collateral. Burning is how you close a mint (borrow) position.
Staking
Depositing both SQFT tokens and USDC into a market’s liquidity pool to earn USDC yield from trading fees. You receive LP (liquidity provider) tokens in return. LP positions carry different risk characteristics than simply holding SQFT.
Season
A time-limited loyalty program period on Shareland. During a season, users earn points for trading, social activity, and on-chain quests. Season 2 is currently live at points.share.land.
Leaderboard
The ranking of top point earners in the current season. Visible at share.land/leaderboard. Top performers compete for prizes and rewards.
Unrealized P&L
The gain or loss on a position you haven’t yet sold. It becomes “realized” when you sell.
Market Halt
A temporary pause in trading triggered when Shareland detects suspicious activity or anomalous pricing. Used to protect marketplace health. Your tokens remain in your wallet and are unaffected during a halt.
Privy
The wallet infrastructure Shareland uses for secure, non-custodial key management. You control your keys. Shareland never holds custody of funds.
Base
The Ethereum L2 blockchain Shareland runs on, built by Coinbase. All transactions settle on Base.
Tycoon
Shareland’s AI agent. Provides market intelligence, real estate analysis, and portfolio strategy. Available as a chatbot on X (Twitter). More capabilities planned as part of Tycoon’s product roadmap.
$TYCOON
The utility token for the Tycoon AI agent. Holders receive discounted fees, early market access, staking allocation, and benefit from a buyback-and-burn mechanism. Available on Virtuals Protocol.
Liquidity
The ability to buy or sell tokens quickly without significantly affecting the price. Shareland maintains liquidity through its market infrastructure.
ACP (Agent Commerce Protocol)
The protocol enabling agent-to-agent coordination in the Virtuals ecosystem. Tycoon uses ACP to allow other agents to deploy capital into Shareland strategies.
